my laptop is limited to sata 2 speeds

i had a old samsung 64gb sata 2 SSD

i replaced it with a new 120gb OCZ vertex 4 SSD, sata 3

the new one seems to run slower! all the drive settings are correct, etc.

for example loading windows seems a few seconds slower.

can it be possible? and would it be the larger size, or a 'bottleneck' in speed somewhere?

How did you install the OS to the new drive ? What OS is it anyway ?
Is the alignment correct for the SSD (depends on how you cloned or whatever you did to the new SSD) ?

It's not all about the interface speed. The controller and actual memory chips plays just as big of a role. In this case you went from one of the best SSD brands to one of the worst.

The problem may be the vertex does not like the laptops chip set. I have seen this with a lot of Apple and OCZ ssds.

When you put a SATA III in a SATA II mobo it works like a SATA I.

Older mac minis 2009 and 2010 Have this issue as does 2009 2010 Macbook Pros. It may not be fixable.
