I recently ordered my brand new build and for a case, I ordered this Antec 300

I was going to get the Antec 300 illusion which includes two front 120mm fans, but I looked at some fans and decided to just buy two of these fans

because it would be cheaper to just buy those two fans, since both cases are identical except for the two extra fans on the illusion. I'm supposed to get my entire build tomorrow except for the fans got delayed until Monday because it's Thanksgiving I guess, so I am wondering if it's safe to use my desktop until Monday when it ships. I am worried that everything will over heat without the two extra fans. What are your thoughts on this? Here is the rest of my setup in case you need to know. (I will not be overclocking)

Optical Drive $20.99

Processor $224.99

Also another quick question for you guys, just because I'm curious. What would happen if I inserted my previous hard drive from my old setup into this brand new setup? Would the BIOS not pop up? Or what? To my knowledge, it would work, but I'd have to install drivers for all my new parts. What do you guys think?

FYI, don't post the same thread on multiple subforums.

You already have a good answer in the other thread, but I just want to add that I would just do a reformat anyways. Better to be sure there's nothing wrong, even if swapping in the old HDD seems to work just fine. You also get the added bonus of cleaning any old crap you don't need.

2000 rpm, those are going to be loud. lots of airflow.

the fans that come with it are perfectly sufficient for what you're doing. the 2 extra fans are unneeded. your power supply exhausts as well.

as to re-using your previous hard drive without clearing it off, it wouldn't affect the bios, likely windows would be just fine from a technical standpoint (reinstall = nerd badge of courage for some reason) but i can't tell you what your EULA says, nor can i tell you how MS would treat you when you call them to activate your install.

May I suggest this for fan

http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-...dp/B000O8I474/

I have Antec 300 too and have all 4 fans in it, but the two fans that came with the case are also sufficient. If you are skeptical, you can run them at highest speeds.
The case has enough windows for airflow. Also, its winter, temps are cooler, you can leave to case sides open if you want.

Are you using the stock CPU cooler? It should be OK but can you get a XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 for $5 AR at newegg!

I would add at least one 120mm fan to the front but thats just me. If not overclocking you dont necessarily need it but It would help ensure good air flow. I'm a big believer of fan intake and fan exhaust in cases. Just how I am. You can always add the fan later though if you feel the inside temps need to be lowered.

Yes, it's perfectly safe to run with just the fans that come with the Three Hundred. Your temps will be a little higher than optimal, but it's nothing to worry about.

As for your second question, the BIOS will always pop up. Whether or not Windows will successfully boot is another story.
