Case top "rivets"

I'm going to replace the top of my PC 75b with a 3x120mm hole precut unit. The top I have is attached with rivets. Is there a tool that's used to remove\apply these rivets, and if so what is it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to drill them out.

Rivet Cutter or Rivet Removal Tool for removal. Rivet tool/Gun to reapply.

I think it would probably be much cheaper to drill them out as greenman suggested. If you go to a local sheet metal/machining shop, they might be able to pop off those rivets and put the new ones in for you for $10-20.

Hand drill to drill out the rivot. You need a rivot gun to put new ones in.

If they are standard pop rivets, a 1/8" drill bit will remove them. Be careful not to remove any case metal in the process.

My rivet removal in the past:
Titanium drill bit, though standard steel bits should work at least a few times. Titanium chews through steel like it was wood. Really nice.

Once drilled out, future attachment is courtesy of standard 6/32 machine screws with accompanying nuts. The panel is secure, and now (fairly) easily removable.

drill is all it takes He's set up. I PMed him the whole deal.

Pop rivets are pretty easy to do yourself and cost around $10 for the gun and some rivets.

Drill out the old ones.

Well I've not worked with aluminum cases. Steel works for me.

Even so, I just love titanium drill bits. Bought a nice cheap set from Harbor Freight. They're all covered with oil (maybe part of the reason they're cheap?) but they work fine on anything.
