Case temps question

Here's my setup:
Antec KS188 full tower (modded, obviously)
2 80mm L1A intakes in front
1 80mm L1A intake on side (blowing on CPU area)
1 60mm L1A rear exhaust (by AGP and CPU area)
2 80mm L1A top rear exhaust

I think my cooling setup is pretty good, but my temps are not that great. Ambient is 70-75F, and my case temp is 87-89 after some heavy gaming, and the CPU is about the same (not overclocked). I have a MSI BXMaster and this is where I'm getting my temps from (might not be totally accurate). Any advice on if this is decent, or how I can improve my temps. (especially since I'm getting a new 700E to overclock).
 
Well, 89dF, that's only 32dC, so I don't see the problem. Sounds pretty cool to me. And 75dF is only 24dC, so your ambient temp is plenty low too.
 
70-75 is my room temp....
Sorry, I thought room temp was ambient. Just showing off my lack of knowledge again. Since I obviously don't know what exactly ambient is, I could use a little explanation. And I have a feeling my case temps are not going to be that great anymore, since I mixed up the terms. Thanks.

can u tell us the difference in temps with fans on, off, case off? might want to follow your case fans settings fro my new medium tower, if possible.
I notice u are using a BX master, just bought one yesterday and i really like the Promise 66 thing better than my ECS P6BAP-A+. I have a query for u since u are using the same mobo, how do u disable the AGP 2x, can't find it in the bios. The reason being the guys at TOCA2 suggesting the crashes when playing TOCA2 driving game is due to AGP2x and i should disable it. Please advise. TQ

Not really sure where to disable AGP2X, never had to do it. mastertech01 (I think, bad memory right now) here in the forums might be able to answer you better....he answered a bunch of questions for me when I first got this board.

As far as the temp differences, I'm not really sure. I didn't test the temp as I went along and installed fans. I got the idea from a great fellow anandtecher over at http://www.gideontech.com for my case mods. I'm planning to do some more temp testing once I put in the new board I just ordered, the Asus CUSL2, with an overclocked Coppermine 700E.
 
Maximus1, I see you have exactly 3 fans sucking in and 3 fans blowing out. I would suggest that you remove your side intake fan that you use to blow on the CPU and try reading your temperature again. I've found that having more air blowing out is better for cooling the case.

Max,
Ambient temperature means nothing more than the air around something. In other words, if you wanted to dry something in ambient air, just lay it on a counter and let it dry naturally with no artificial intervention.

I hear what you're saying about the the fans tonyou, but I've actually got 4 fans blowing out (forgot to include the 80mm in the power supply). I still might try disabling the side fan to see what happens though.
 
Oh yeah, that's right Maximus, even I forgot tha you have the power supply fan drawing air out. But I think it's better that you have an air flow that starts from the bottom front of the case and flow up and out through the back. The side case fan may interrupt that flow... Anyways, let me know if it worked for you.
