My inside case temp is at 38c with no fans installed apart from the PSU,& Processor, would buying a case cooler be a good idea?btw I`ve a Thunderbird 900 which is at 46-47c right now it never goes above 49c even if I play a 3D game.
ideally, you could probably drop the temp drasitcally by installing an 80mm intake and 80mm exhuast fan. do you hvae an exhaust fan opening in the back near the cpu? That will make adding an exhaust fan far easier.
As far as a front fan, you should already have a spot for an 80mm fan.
my case with 2 80mm fans and a slot cooler runs at 28 deg C, but then again I am running a celeron 450 and a v3 so it is not a hot setup like yours, inwin s500 case though which has pretty good airflow
I have a tornado 2000 case from 3dcool.com I have a tbird 700@900 and with my old case with only 2fans my case temp was always around 39c now with the new case it is never above 29c so i agree with bozack put in two 80mm fans it will make a big temp change oh and my cpu never goes above 45c
I have put 2x80mm fans in my case, that has brought my temps to 36c with mp3's and browsing and that rises to about 40c when playing games, I did have it down to 29c, but I coldn't stand the noise of six fans running at once
Its tough to compare case temps with other people when no mention of the ambient room temperature is made. Obviously even a very badly cooled cramped case is gonna be cooler if placed in the North Pole than a huge case with many well positioned fans if placed in the Sahara Desert(ok that was an extreme example )
FWIW I have an older version Addtronics 6896A that I've modded to put many more fans. Its never more than 3-4C higher than room temp. Right now I have my air-con thermostat set at 27C and the case temp according to my BH6 sensor/MBM 4.18 is stable at 30C.
