I have just decided to build my own computer. It?s my first time in doing so, and I have a question about the case. What does it mean when it says, "the case comes with a power supply of 300 Watts.? What does that do for the computer? Is that its power source to run it? Thanks for your time whoever answers this.

Yes, a power supply is what you plug the different parts of your computer in to.

Yep. Your electronics require electricity to run it. Your case doesn't need any electricity unless you like getting electrocuted

I'm running on a tight budget, so would a 300-watt power supply be suitable?
I'm not going to be using this computer for gaming or anything like that primarily for editing movies and things like that. Also, would anyone know of a good case that would be under $100.00? And maybe has more than just two USB ports?

What brand of power supply?

For a case under $100 I would Highly recomend the Antec Sonata. It has a 380 power included and usb ports in front.

About the Antec Sonata is there a special brand number or serial number or is it just like the only kind of case they make or sell?

I really like Antec for quality. The exception would be their drive doors, but they come with a three year warranty.

A good place to buy your stuff would be from newegg.com

A cheaper case would be the Antec SLK3700AMB and Antec SLK3700BQE. Newegg's description and pics would tell you what the difference are

Don't assume that a 300w PSU will be enough, even if said PSU is branded. Whether it will be adequate depends on what you have in the case and how much you tax it by the choices you make. Like whether you overclock or are into case lights. I remember reading that AMD reccomends 350w as bare minimum. The trick is that you not have to think about buying a new PSU 3-months down the line when you find out that your "included" PSU isn't up to the job. Good luck in whatever you decide!

and there is a tendence that people put their expensives 1000 dollar computers on a 30 dollar case that won't give enogh room, airflow and/or power to get juice out of your computer, good luck
