i have a gateway g6 400 computer and i'm planning on upgrading the mother board, cpu, power supply and ram. my question is can i just use the gateway case instead of buying a new case. i am planning on just buying a power supply and putting it in the gateway. another question, will the gateway power switch fit on the mother board. i'm planning on getting, asus a7n8x, amd athlon xp 2600+, a 350 power supply, and two sticks of 256mb ddr pc2700 for dual channel memory. but can i just keep my case and not but a new case? please help!!

honestly, with your setup, i would buy a new casing.

It'll be worth it + I hate casings by those companies :p

Just my 0.02 :D

You often find those cases are built around the components they put in them and so would be hard pushed to get new bits to fit them, plus they aint easy on the eye....go for little extra money and get yourself a decent looking case :D

You can use the gateway case if you don't want to spend the money, if your current gateway is ATX and has a momentary contact power switch it will work fine. If it doesn't have the momentary power switch you'll have to buy one and modify it to fit in your current case. If it were me I would buy a new case with a decent power supply and good cooling. You will need the extra cooling for the AMD processor.
