Hi! I'm building my first computer, and this is what I have planned out so far:

CPU: Slot 1 Celeron
Motherboard: AOpen AX6BC, or revisions of it
Memory: 96MB of generic PC100 RAM (currently owned)
Video: Diamond Stealth III Xtreme
Sound: Creative SB Live! (currently owned)
Optical: miscellanious DVD-ROM drive
Hard Drive: IBM Deskstar IDE 7200RPM, c. 10gb

I'm looking for recommendations on a good desktop case for it, and a power supply- I was looking at a PC Power & Cooling power supply, but they're so expensive! and I don't know another good brand... I'm also probably going to overclock the Celeron (not really really high, just I've heard it's very easy to get them 100 mHz above the list speed) and do I need any special fan or something, for that? Thank you ^_^ If it's OK, I wouldn't like to spend to much more then $150 on those things.

Any generic desktop case would be good, but.. Are you sure there isn't any way to get a tower? For me, overclocking is a lot easier with towers.. Maybe it's not like that with everyone, though. A regular ATX or AT desktop cases without a power supply is around $25 at any computer store and I've seen generic or standard ATX towers for $28 or $30 at the same stores.

If you're only planning to overclock that Celeron about 100MHz above the list speed, you probably won't need any more than the standard Slot 1 fan that you could get anywhere for around $9.99. If you have the money, though, you might try to get one of the better ones for $15 or $19 that'll allow you to overclock a bit more (possibly 200MHz to 250MHz over the list speed).

If you get a case without a power supply, make sure that the power supply fits the case properly and everything. Also, make sure that the dimensions of the motherboard are right for the case that you get. 250W power supplies are good for Celerons, but most cheaper 300W power supplies still work great and they're around $49.

I'd say you can get all you need for around $60 - $80. Cooling isn't a big problem unless you plan on overclocking both the Celeron and the Stealth III Xtreme really high. If you -do- decide to overclock both of them really high, a slot fan isn't too bad of an idea (around $15 more dollars for a good one). Good luck.

PcPowerCooling power Supplies are overprice remarks of other quality power supplies. Get Sparkle's/Fortron-Sources if you are intent on getting a 300W PcPowerCooling TurboCool 300W(same PS, save $40). If you want 400+ PcPowerCooling, they could still be ZippyEmacs P.S.'s(also an excellent brand, but you can get it cheaper by buying one with the zippy-emacs label).

Other quality power supply choices are Enermax, Seventeam, and Antec. Antec is the probably the cheapest of the group, while Enermax's aren't really that much more and have superb build quality.
