Hey Guy's,
I just order a pre-modded case today. I'm interested in painting it. I know you use a spray paint on it but I wasn't sure if ppl recomened a certain kind of spray paint. I'm trying to stay away from the glossy look.

Thanks,
FF

If you take a quick look around some of the case modding sites, you will find lots of suggestions and guides on painting your case. I've done 2 cases now, and I don't think the brand of paint you choose makes a major difference. Obviously if the paint looks cheap or is a brand you're unsure of, maybe go for a slightly more expensive one. That's what has worked for me. :)

I had typed a bunch more useless information, but I erased it and tried to find a real guide, which will help you much more. Of course this morning things aren't working out so well, and I can't find a good painting guide. Hopefully someone else will post one. Just remember to take into account that whatever guide it is, they are most likely focused on achieving a glossy finish, so you can skip some of their steps if you don't want the gloss. This will likely save you alot of sanding and polishing. :)

mirror finish guide

i've used this guide to do two cases. The first one turned out ok, but not great. The one I'm doing now looks much better. If you follow the directions on the site closely it's not that hard.

The Plasti-kote paint they use in the guide can be found at most auto parts stores (Pep Boys, Advance Auto, etc) and costs about $4 a can.

Thanks a bunch man.. That guide looks very useful! My case is coming in Wednesday.. After I paint it and everything is good to go, I will take some pics of the job and post them.

Thanks,

I don't have any pics of my paint job... no camera at the time. I borrowed a camera recently for my new modifications, but they are still in progress so right now there's not much to see, except a hole in the left panel. :)
