Case modding is old news, now mod that monitor!

So you have a case window? Well, the next logical step is a monitor window! 😕

Twisted mods shows you how to add a window to yer monitor HERE!

Personally I think some people have way too much time in their hands... 🙂

isnt that kinda stupid? heat goes up and now instead of tiny holes for the hot air to go through there is just a flat see through surface.

To much time AND money.

Maybe they just forgot to drill the air holes, but that is a pretty stupid thing to forget

I'm a modding fiend but I don't really like this idea. Guess I love my monitor too much and it costed way too much to mess up! 😛

DISCLAIMER: Monitors store enough voltage to severely harm or even kill you. If you perform this mod, TwistedMods is not responsible for anything that happens to you or someone around because of failure to heed the electrical warnings on your monitor. Additionally, TwistedMods is not responsible for anything that happens that may cause your monitor or computer to cease correct functionality.

SIDENOTE: Windowing a monitor reduces the effectiveness of the ventilation system and therefore can reduce the life of your monitor due to overheating. If you do this mod, it is suggested that you add fans to either side, or to your window, as will be shown in Part II of this guide

LOL...so what's the point? The risk is high of getting shocked and reduces effectiveness of ventilation. Adding some laser cut fans would be cool though 😉

OMG, I opened a unpluged monitor before. I was seeing the insides when I touched a black heatsink. ZAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

That sh|t hurt like a mofo. NEVER touch anything in your monitor!!! If it was plugged in, it would probably kill all my nerves in my hand.:frown:

Monitors, TVs, and switching power supplies hold a charge long after they are unplugged.
It's just dangerous unless you know what you are doing with these types of electronics.
Don't try this at home kids 😛

The scary part is that I'm not sure whether they are serious.

Extra lights inside the monitor = STUPID IDEA. The picture on your screen looks best (especially contrast-wise) with NO OTHER LIGHTS ON IN THE ROOM. The extra lights being put in would either be in a place you don't see them while using it (pointless) or actually be DETRIMENTAL to your ability to see the screen.

The idea of adding fans to the monitor to take care of the new ventilation problem is even more absurd. Bring a fan near your monitor while both are on without even opening it to see why.

I've had something similar in my monitor for years. . . it's called the screen!

Seriously though, definitely something else to do when you've modded your box in every way shape and form.
