k, tryin to install my mobo in my case, tryin to connect the front panel stuff. i have front mic, speaker, usb, and firewire. now, nothing matches. the case has a 2pin MIC, 3pin EAR (but only has 2 wire, wire in 1pin and 3pin), 2 2pin N.P., 2 1pin GROUND, and 2 1pin +5V. my mobo has seperate USB and front panal audio. for my mobo basicly looks like this

USB PINS;..................................................................FRONT PANAL AUDIO:
.UBS+5V |0 0| USB+5V...............................................MIC2 |0 0| AGND
USB_P5- |0 0| USB_P6-......................................MICPWR |0 0|+VA
USB_P5+|0 0| USB_P6+................................L.ine out_R |0 0| BLINDE_OUT_R
.........GND|0 0|GND.........................................................NC |0 0|
..................|0 0|N.C..............................................Line out_L |0 0| BLINE_OUT_L

K, where goes where? what the hell is BLINDE_OUT? i know R and L are right and left. what the hell is N.P. on the case wire?

next question is i have front panal firewire, but the firewire cord is just a gray cord with a plug in (typical firewire connoctor). i can't hook that up to my mobo, the mobo has pins. how do i solve this? from the case, i have a 7pin cord. with the mobo, i have 6pin to 8pin converters. on the mobo, i have 8pin connectors, on the rear case pci slot, i have 6pin connectors. can i only hook the mobo plug into the rear pci slot adapter? or can i get the frontpanal firewire directly connected to the mobo (8pin to 7pin adapter?)?

EDIT: bah, i just realized nothing lined up like it was suppose to, let me tweak it.

EDIT: k, go it. the zeros inside the | | are the pins.

You need the mobo manual...if you don't have it, you can download it from the manufacturer's site. It should have all this info clearly marked.

i do have the manual, the problem is none of the names match. such as the mobo has BLINE_OUT_R, but none of the case pins have that on'em. i'm hoping somebody will know whats what. i'd rather not trial and error, if you connect USB up incorrectly, you can blow it. :(

I can't envision an instance where the manual and board names don't match. Are you sure you have the right manual? Just to check, go to the website, and look at the layout and labeling.

Try some of these links. They helped me get my USB working. The firewire I haven't fixed yet. I thought my mobo had the firewire connector built-in...but it didn't. I'm still working on getting this one fixed. I'm not in a rush though since I don't have anything to plug into the firewire port.

thx for the link Ehirner, but unforantly doesn't help. :( i need to figure out what the case labeled wires are. like what does the 2pin connector labeled N.P. connec to? what could N.P. stand for? i just don't know what goes together.
