Case like Lian Li PC-A70F but not quite so big?

The PC-A70F is almost exactly what I'm looking for but it's a bit too deep. Anyone know of a similar case but a little smaller?

  • black aluminum
  • full (or large mid) tower
  • no side window, preferably no side fans either
  • top is flat and no required fan on the top
  • front I/O is either on the top at the front or on the front near the top
  • no door
  • quiet
Toolless is nice but not necessary. Not that concerned about price. More concerned about getting a high-quality case that will last.

So you need a case which is less than 585mm deep (the PC-A70F is 220mm x 590mm x 585mm ( W, H, D))

I looked at Silverstone TJ09 - it is too deep, and has fans in the top and in the side.

The Silverstone TJ07 also has fans in the top and in the side.

Lian li - All their full tower cases except for the TYR PC-X2000 are either too deep or have front doors.

The TYR PC-X2000 has drives, which are accessed from the side. The review I link to below, also suggests that it is quiet, although you may need to run the fans at low or medium speed (not high depending on your hearing) using the built in (l/m/h) fan controller. It is shallow, but higher than a normal full tower at 230 x 430 x 680mm ( W, D, H).

It's also pricey.

Tagan ABS Black Pearl - it is too deep. However it does have a built in fan controller, so you can adjust the case fan speed to whatever you find optimal between noise and performance.

Sorry, I couldn't help you more.

Edit: I know I focused on Lian li and Silverstone cases - but that is what immediately sprang to my mind when you said high quality and aluminium (although they tend to be pricey). I'm sure there are other case manufacturers out there, which have products that can accomodate your needs - others can chime in with their suggestions.

daw123, thanks very much for your insight. I was not familiar with the TYR PC-X2000 case. Not sure the side-mounted optical drive will work in the spot my case will sit but it's an interesting concept.

Maybe I shouldn't be so set on a case with no door especially if I could remove it.
