Case Issues - Power Supply Fitting

Hey -

I got a new black kingwin case w/ 3 acrylic windows a few months back. I started off w/ my old PSU knowing that I wanted to get a new one later, but just didnt want to put out the cash at the time. When I went to put my old PSU in the new case, the mounting screws wouldnt line up and fit ... so now my PSU is just resting on the brackets inside the case. Im looking now for a new PSU (would prefer black - PENTIUM 4) but I am not sure what I should look for - in order so that the new PSU will fit in my case. This has never happened to me, in my experience, all PSUs have fit in every case I have ever owned.

Anyone have any suggestions or feedback on the topic?

Possibly KingWin uses non-standard PSU mounting holes. They should include (or make available) an adapter plate for using std PSUs.

From looking at a pic of the rear of your case at NewEgg, it appears that they want the PSU mounted with the exhaust fan on the right side(if you are viewing the case from the rear).

This would require mounting the PSU upside-down to fit. If your PSU is single fan, this isn't a problem. If it has more than one fan, you'll need to make an adapter plate to install it correctly.

I looked at several KW cases on newegg and it looks like some have the normal case cutout and others have a large cutout that requires an adapter plate to fit a std PSU.
The adapter plate then mounts to the case with 4 screws. The PSU adapter plate should have come with the case - look thru the packing again, it may be in an envelope. If not, contact your case supplier.
