Hi,
I live in Los Angeles and we are going through a cold spell, well lately I noticed that my cpu temp is 27C idle and it never went that low before, usually idle at 32C, and my case temp is 23C, I thought the temp reading might be broken but just in case, anybody else in the LA area experience similar things.

I live in Orange County and my temps are running the same as yours are. Mother nature is providing free cooling I like it

Like dadx2mj said, we're just getting some free cooling courtesy of mother nature. :D

Switch on a heater in the winter?

Son, I grew up in Vermont. What I see here in L.A. doesn't even begin to quality as "winter." :D

With enough computers running you don't need a heater running. 8)

Besides that with the threat of rolling blackouts it's best to save the power for only vital things, ie heating off, computer on. 8)

Anyway I avoid turning the heater on if I can, that's why I have sweats, and thick socks and blankets etc. Besides hate it when people leave and leave the heater on, so it's an oven when I get home.

Woohoo, case temp of 18.5c at midday! :) Gotta love Scotland's natural cooling ability - if I open the window, I can get as low as 9c! And yeah, I got the K6-2 on all the time to provide heating to my room :D.

do you guys know why my mobo temp is always higher than the cpu temp??

when the cpu temp is rising, it will rise according to the cpu temp

always few degrees higher than the cpu temp.

What program are you using to read the temps? i have a feeling that either the SE6 has a problem reading internal diode temp, or that you have the two measurements switched around, since even at idle, the cpu temp will not be lower than mb chipset temp(even without a heatsink).

i am using the SE6 hardwaredoctor that come with the mobo itself.

any idea the cpu temp is always lower than the board temp??
even i open all the windows during winter time

the temp of mobo is 20 celcius and the cpu temp is 23 celcius

wonder why???
