Case for lots of HDs

Hey all,

As the title might explain - I'm looking for a case with lots of room for 3.5" HDs - preferably a tower case (and unfortunately it can't be a rackmount - otherwise I'd get the Norco 4220 <drool>).

One interesting case that I've found is the NZXT Whisper - it has a whopping 9 3.5" bays and some 5.25" bays to boot, but those 3.5" bays in there look a bit cramped to me and I don't think they're really meant to host 9 hard drives (and with only 1 120mm fan cooling them...).

Any opinions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply - but I've been thinking of 5-in-3 enclosures, and I'm a bit frightened by their cooling as I will be running the drives 24/7...

Those 5 drives look really cramped in there and I'm not sure the single 120mm fan will cool them properly.

Are you using your drives 24/7 too with that enclosure? Does it cool them properly?

Edit - Just noticed the price on that enclosure: 100$?! For an enclosure? That's quite a bit >.>

The CSE-M35T-1B has plenty of cooling on its own. The included 92mm fan is rather noisy to use in a non server environment however will cool five 15K drives effortlessly. Get the SAS version instead so if you ever get SAS drives you will be ready. SATA backplanes will NOT work with SAS however SAS backlplanes will work with SATA. Sounds silly but that's the way it is.
