Are Aerocool X-Static Fans better then Panaflo L1?

RPM 2000 rpm
Air Flow 22.9 cfm
Noise Level 21.8 dba

I bought 7 of these Fans... Well 6, 2 Intake and 4 Exhaust for a Quiet Cool System, and One LED Intake on the Side, Are these Fans better then Panaflo? By the way, do any of you have Panaflo's Website?
 
Yeah, But I bought them from a Retail Store, and Haven't Opened them yet... So I can return them... But I want to make sure there aren't better fans out there before I open it
So... Why is Panaflo Better Exactly?
 
Well, I've never heard of the fans of which you speak. Panaflos are pretty widely known as the best 80mm fans available. Either fan will need to be undervolted, I'm sure you won't notice a big difference. I would personally take the Panaflos though.

How much did you pay for those fans?
 
I can't even find any mention of those fans on SPCR. You can be the guinea pig though. Let us know how they are man! 😀

It'd be nice if you had a panaflo for comparison.

That's right. 6 fans at any voltage are going to make some noise. You don't need that many fans.
 
Don't let anyone tell you what you need or don't need. Decide for yourself based on your unique circumstances, dude. You can easily mount 6-fans if you wish to and have a fan controller switch them on at preset temps threshholds. It all depends on the effect you're looking for and what you're willing to pay to make it happen.
 
There is no concievable reason to have 6 fans. There's this thing called the law of diminishing returns. You get enough fans, and they're fighting against each other, and fighting the size of the intake\exhuast holes.

Okay, the tell me how this law applies to me when you don't know my computer environment or requirements. BTW, I've achieved pretty much neutral case pressure, even with all 8 of my case fans running, which isn't often.
 
btw any thoughts on "best" low noise etc fans changing depending on the case etc? like some fans cope with having to draw air through filters etc better than others. Some manuf's will give the static preassure charts but damned if they mean much to me, not even a guess whereabouts mine would lie on those charts.
 
that is just silly. with 6 case fans, you will likely have 10 fans in your computer. You do NOT NEED that many. If you got 2 120mm fans instead of 6 80mm fans, you would not notice a diff in temps and it would be a helluva lot quieter
 
maybe case doesnt support 120mm's and he's got 6 so they can all run 1000rpm, or maybe he just likes it that way.

Exactly... You guys have know Idea what type of system I'm running and why I would consider these Fans... And if you want to really compare these Fans, FrozenCPU has them both. I understand 7 Fans in a Computer would make noise, but in my opinion, 7 20 dba Fans are better then 7 50 dba Fans... Reason I'm putting in 7 in the First place is because I'm going to be running

You don't need to look anything up to figure out if thats going to cause Heat. I already bought a Fan Monitor and Controller, CoolerMaster AeroGate II.
Also AeroCool Static-X is $8.50, and my 7th Fan is an AeroCool Aluminum Blue LED Fan going at 20.3 dba.
 
Also... I was able to buy the AeroCool Fans at Fry's Electronics... With a Gift Certificate, So I just wanted to know is Panaflo so much better that I should order it Online? I'm open to spend the money if it is a better quality Fan. But from what I read at FrozenCPU which I trust, they seem to know anything that has to do with Cooling.

Nope, you don't need that many fans. 2 80mm exhuast fans and one 80mm intake to spot cool your HDs will provide fine cooling for your system.

People are so crazy about overdoing things. 650watt power supplies, 6 case fans.... It's called diminishing returns!!
 
I really like my Panaflos because they move a good amount of air for the noise it creates. I don't have the L1As, I have the H1As which are lounder then the L1As, but push more air. The noise that it makes is also a low hum, which is a much better noise then the higher pitched whine of the Sunon fans that I used.
 
It a fan....just try them out.

Fry's even takes returns on opened product so if for some reason you are not satisfied you can take them back. However, with that many fans you probably won't be able to tell one way or the other if you have a "better" fan or not.

WOULD YOU PEOPLE COOL IT!!! he can have 6 friggin fans if he wants, wether he needs them or not. who knows? mabye he lives in a tent on the Equator and powers his rig off a generator with weekly fuel air drops? who cares how many fans he has, you don't have to pay for them or hear it, so shut up.

And it's for them to decide, and they should be able to do so without derision. I think it's silly for people to be so freaked by noise, but I would never say so in polite company. And that includes these forums. Beyond the utility of having a computer, it's a HOBBY. Overkill and redundancy in the pursuit of things you love to do is as old as man. The ONLY reason SOME people here pester each other over niggly sh1t like this is because they can do so without consequence.

It seems sort of like cowardice to me.

I think that 7 fans is way too many.

Overclocking is a hobby, but to me part of the hobby is to be able to do it cheaply and quietly.

Fans is a necessary evil.

I have a case that can have 7 fans (two in front, two on the side, two at the rear, one on the top) + 2 fans in the power supply. Initially I though about putting lots of silent fans. Now I think this would have been too loud.
I got high flow 92mm Panaflow fan (on CPU heat sink) and it is acting on my nerves, way too loud for me. My CPU temps in low 30C idle. Now I am investigating a best way to lower this fan noise. I do not mind CPU getting well into 60C range (under load), if I can have less noise.

Even when I put 1.95V Core I still have more then enough cooling with just 3 case fans. After some testing I realized that current ATX system, have been designed to push air out, so negative pressure is great for it.

I always have one fan on the side to pull cool, outside air right into CPU cooler fan.
Fan on the top of the case is useless, since I do not have any heat critical component (just couple of DVD drives, which seems to cool themselves passively just fine) up there.
Putting front intake fan did not do much good ether. Maybe HD stayed a bit cooler, but CPU temps did not change.
What does make a LOT of difference is to have two exhaust fans at the rear. With one rear fan I get 40C+ CPU and with two I get 30C+.

I can't tell you the difference between different fans that you bought (I still have to return few of mine to Fry?s), but you do not have to have a lot of fans to have a cool running system.

I had a friend who's PC did not worked too well on hot days, so he took off the side and pointed big fan (from Home Depot, something like 2 feet in diameter) into it. Worked very well. I think this setup was much quieter then with Tornado. Esthetically not very nice though.
 
It's okay to think what you want. What isn't okay is you acting as if your imagination and requirements are binding on everyone.

You obviously don't understand hoobyists that well. Not everyone has your financial limitations. Nor does everyone FREAK at the sound of fans. You run your machine the way you want and I'll do the same.

No, fans are a means to an end, nothing more. There's nothing evil about them.

You should understand these things without being told. Just like you should understand that this place doesn't have to be one juvenile pissing contest after another.
 
You guys blew this topic way off Subject... I was just asking what is better Aerocool Static-X or Panaflow L1A, I didn't post this so you guys can debate whether 7 Fans is too much or too little, it always depends on the circumstances.. I live in Arizona, in the summer is sometimes goes up to 125 Degrees. And I'm not in a debate about it being Cheap or not, every computer I've ever bought or built cost me only 1000 dollars and would get obsolete in 2 months, or was already obsolete when I bought the parts, On this computer I'm going all out I mean 2000 just for the parts. This will be a Gaming Rig, and the reason I'm trying to get 7 of the most Quiet Fans, is because I often leave my computer on at night, which is in my bedroom, so I'd like it if it didn't make a constant Wailing noise in my room at 3:00am when I'm asleep. So again, please don't stray of topic...

AeroCool Static-X or Panaflow L1A? If I have 7 or 1 it doesn't matter... Once someone here gives me a proper awnser or atleast one with some thought into it, then you can talk about Televisions for all I care.
