just got a Antec 1080. It came with three fans. Two are in back with the power supply and one on the side. The 2 in the rear are set to blow out of the case and the side is set to blow in. There are 2 places for intake fans in the front which comes through the filter.

For starters i dont want to use the side fan until i rig up some sort of filter. I was considering taking one of the exhaust fans and the side and putting them in front. Is this the way it should be done? A recent article in computer gaming world on cooling says that you should have more air coming in then out so you dont create a vacum which sucks air and dust into the case.

what do you think?

If you filter the air coming in with the inlet fans you are going to mount , if you don't it wont make any difference as far as getting dust in your case .

The Antec cases get great airflow even without the side fan. I say you put one intake in the front, one exhaust in the back, and one in that hard drive bay.
