Case fans & RPM sensor

Okay, I have a MSI Pro 5 mobo and it has 3 rpm sensor/fan power sources on board (1 for the mobo, 1 for the power supply, and one for a case fan). Now I want to take advantage of the RPM sensor on the mobo. I was thinking that I could remove the two power wires from the 3 pin connecter and hook it up to my baybus and connect the rpm sensor one to my mobo. The question is, will this work and has anyone actually tried it? I don?t want to mess up my mobo, so I thought I would ask before I try. Any comments will be appreciated.

Yep, this works fine. If you don't want to play with the fan wiring, then you can buy cables that do it, such as this one.

Yes this works, but you must have the RPM sensor and the black wire (ground) and hooked up to the board. The black and red can go to the 4 pin molex or in your case, the baybus.
