Case Fan screws

Can someone explain to me what "flush-head, nutless screws" are and how they differ from me just going to a hardware store and finding nuts and bolts that are the right size and length?

For instance, these fan screws in a recent Hot Deal:

...are advertised as being quite special for case fans, yet they don't look long enough to go through a 60 or 80mm fan and the aluminum of the case.

I could be wrong, but they look like self tapping screws. They would get screwed in from the front of the case, and only lock into the front facing fan faceplate. (say that three times real fast).

flush head i think means that the head is flat against whatever it's being screwed into
and nutless are self tapping

And haven't we all gone looking for a self-tapping nutless screw at one point or another?

Vey special little screws. Some cases have dimpled fan mount screw holes, looks like they are countersunk from the outside. The dimples locate the fan perfectly, and the screws tap into the plastic fan housing until the screw heads are flush with the case surface. Very OEM appearance, very quick and easy installation. They also avoid any loose nuts rattling around inside the case.
