Case fan installation questions

I'm replacing the fans in my case with Panaflo L1A's, and I have a coupla quick questions.

1) The fan in the rear should be blowing out, and the fan in the front should be blowing in, correct?

2) The original rear fan in my case had a grill... should I bother putting that grill on the Panaflo? What is it for beside catching some dust? 🙂

1. Yes thats the optimal configuration.

2. Grills are only to prevent animals/fingers from touching the fan while its running and getting severed

I noticed you mentioned catching dust. If you actually want to keep dust out of your system you can put a filter on it... I suggest putting a filter on the front one at least b/c that is where the dirty air intake is 😛

Your case temps are going to increase with the low-flow Panaflo L1As. (did that)

If you add an input filter, your temps will further increase due to even lower air flow. (did that)

If 'quieter' is more important than 'cooler', enjoy!

I went with Panaflos, but the higher temps bothered me more than the fan noise, so I'm back to 4 40CFM Sunon case fans and cpu-idle in the mid-30s.

Hope this helps!
