Case Fan Crisis

I just bought two Panafol L1As for my Antec SLK3700AMB and they are too think (38mm) for the mounts. Now what? The front one does not even fit between the HD mount and the case. What is a good 25mm fan?

stealth vantecs?

me? i'd just buy any old cheapo fan from svc or whatever for 2.50 bux and connect it to a fan speed controller. lower rpm to acceptable noise and your done.

Your problem is due to those plastic holders. You can easily get some bolts, nuts, and rubber washers to mount your Panaflos at any hardware store.

I have the Compucase LX-6A19, which has the same chassis with a different front bezel, and I've got two Panaflo's in my system.Without the plastic mounts, the HD cage is a tight squeeze, but it will fit. There is also no noise or vibration from the fans by using the rubber washers.

What Blooz1 said. The fans will also be quieter by ditiching those awful plastic holders and mounting them directly to the case with washers.

I had the same problem with the plastic fan mount in my case. I used Skoodog's principle of success: Anything will work with the right amount of force. Sure, I cracked the plastic mount, but my fan is uber-tight up against the case. 😀
