I am interested in building a PC but was alerted on a message board about a potential conflict and wanted to get feedback before proceeding.

I am interested in the Sonata II PC Case with the Asus P5B Deluxe M/B and the ATI AIW X1900 Video card...I had read that there are compatibility issues in terms of space and that the Sonata II was too small to accomodate the card size...Can anyone clarify/advise before I proceed?

Welcome to the AT forums.

IIRC, the HDD fan mounts to the back side of the HDD cage. If that's true, then you won't have room for that vid card. Consider something like the Rosewill R560x series or the Thermaltake SViking. those put the fan in front of the HDD cage and have 11" of card space - just enough for the AIW. Check out my review of the R5604 here: http://www.techimo.com/reviews/ All the cases listed are based on the same chassis.

And be sure that's the vid card you want as it sound like some of the buyers at Newegg have signifcant problems. Might want to consider separate vid and tuner cards.
