Hey guys, to make a long story short, My gf's sister is going to live with us for 6 month so that means that my computer is coming into my room so I want it to be SILENT.

Right now, I have an Antec plusview 1000amg with 2 rear fans, on side fan and 1 front fan on the case.

The power supply is a enermax 460W and inside there's a FX-53 with stock HS/F and a connect 3D radeon X850XT PE that is LOUUUUD.

I thought about going with water cooling but if I can get some great results with just getting a case like the antec P180, it would be faster and cheaper.

Let me know what you guys would recommand please!

You want it silent all the time? Instead of upgrading, can you just turn the computer off while you sleep? Just wondering if that was an option. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about seeing people upgrade and all, but I'd hate to see it done needlessly.

well, this computer acts as a server so it is on pretty much all the time. And even when it's not doing anything, the constant noise is annoying to me.

If I have to shut it down when I go to sleep, then I'll do it, but I'd rather have it on most of thet time.

Well, you can go nuts and upgrade like mad.

For example (using the noise sources you list):

Case:

P180, or any case with low RPM 120mm fans ...

-or-

Quiet fans in current case + sound packing

Power Supply:

Seasonic S12, Antec Phantom 500, etc...

CPU cooler:

Thermaltake Big Typhoon, XP-120 or SI-120 with quiet fan, Scythe Ninja, etc...

GPU cooler:

Arctic Cooling Silencer (many model to choose from, and they work) or the Zalman version

Alternately, you can water cool your rig, but then there is the noise of the pump and radiator fans, but those can be upgraded - or - you can use a passive rig like the Zalman Resorator (sp?) or that Thermaltake thing (massive passive beast)

Or, you can drop a mountain of cash and get a Zalman TNN passive case, and heatpipe the he11 out of your system.

I searched for a retailer's item description for your case. What I found was something called an "Antec Plusview II" or Plusview 2.

I'm curious as to the size of the fan you say is located in front. If it is an 80mm, I'd mod the case to fit a 120mm in there. If it's 92mm, I'd probably leave it alone but pick a fan with as much throughput as I can find with a minimum of noise.

With the "right" preparations, you should be able to make that particular case as quiet as an AC vent. I would jetison all 80mm fans, if possible. Also, if you can assure that there is a front-intake fan of 120mm size, you could eliminate the side-panel blowhole fan (80mm?) if you pick an efficient cooler, like the SI-120.
