Okay, Hard Drive Disk, I always just called them HDs. I never knew they had "isolation" for them, I just thought they all stacked on top of each other. I could probably just leave an empty bay between the two if I am only using 2 of the 3?

No, I mean rubber HDD (hard disk drive) mountings for vibration isolation - the Rosewill R6A series has rubber bushings in the HDD rack for the mounting screws and the R560x has rubber bushings in the HDD rails. If you have some 5" bays you're not going to use, you could rig bungee cord or shoelace suspensions for your HDDs - or mount them in a Lian Li drive rack (holds 3 HDDs in two 5" bays and has its own fan - has rubber bushings like the 6A series of cases et al. Of course, the HDDs these days are a lot quieter than in the past - likely won't be noisy enough to bother you.

I was just thinking that you could put the 25c rubber feet on the bottom of the LED dancing feet (hard acrylic) - best of both worlds... :lol;

LOL... will see, ya I think I will go with the Raidmax Smilodon and just rig up a 120mm on the back and go from there, might look into those feet lol. Thanks for all the help guys.

LOL was checking out some RAM and came across this Corsair XMS2 it has red LEDs and was thinking... would that look good in the blue LED Smilodon case or would the two colors clash and look ugly? Its only $2.00 more than the Corsair XMS purple friend and I think that is the type of RAM I will end up getting, DDR2 and 800mhz for some speed to my designing/gaming. Not a fan of purple and with the window on my case... I don't know if I could live with myself lol, but I don't want red LEDs to mess up the scenery. And other than that I think I just need to pick a motherboard and decide between a 256mb video card or a 512mb and I will have my PC all planned. I figure fans I can just pick up after I get the case, before I start the PC.

primary red and primary blue in conjunction can trigger seizures in epileptics...

Wow good to know. I don't have any seizures myself and no one in my immediate family does either. I doubt the LED on the RAM is too powerful, thought it might add a nice look to the window view. Computers are so damn dangerous too lol, EQ1 had to have a warning on the front each time you logged in about seizure warnings.

Red really stands out on a blue background (red receptors in retina real sharp, blue receptors not so) I doubt that red and blue LED light would cause the trigger - more like red letters on a blue backgroound printed. Shades and pastels of blue and red don't exhibit the effect as strongly - it is the primary colors juxtaposed that are dangerous.

LOL, getting all clinical on me =/ Just wondering if its going to look nice or not, not worried about seizure folks, but I will give everyone a warning before they look. I think it might be nice to have my RAM emit a red glow, as long as it doesn't over power the blue LED fan(s). Which brings me to this... what exactly do you do for a living Zepper? 121279 posts and counting, you have enough time to help fools like me.

I actually started here in 1999 (or maybe even longer ago - I forget), went a couple years with a different handle but eventually they were able to hook the old post count back in and picked up my original nickname so the post count isn't so bad for 7 years or more. I'm near the big 60 and semi-retired - been messing with this stuff for over 25 years.

LOL, in all the years of experience, have you seen blue case LEDs and some red LEDs somewhere involved (this case, the RAM), was wondering how you had the free time to help everyone out. Good reviews too, didn't go with what I was looking at any way but I read a few of them.

Yes, I've been trying to say that it would look good - kind of like seeing mars or jupiter at dusk when the sky is still "blue". And very Christmas-y... ;)

Are you old enough to remember blue-dot taillights on cars? You know, tuffs with ducktail haircuts and black leather jackets with lots of (ahem) Zippers... Maybe that's what you're thinking of... ;)

Personally, I like a combination of red, orange, and purple -- LED and UV. Still working toward that end... I'll get there someday!

Sorry, I wasn't aware of much until the 60s. And let's not be mentioning my age in every (or even any more) post, Vin.
Thank you very much.

LOL sorry I got that started, almost to my goal in saving so it shouldn't be much longer. Going rich style with the 6600 over the 6400 and will be starting with just 2 hard drives and a PCI-E video card, probably Nvidia.

Okay, I put some more thought into this... Smilodon = Sabretooth Lion relative, no? Then why the blue LEDs and not red? I think the red LED to light up the 3 lines in the front would kinda make it look like a claw just ripped across the front... eh, too much though maybe, but with such a vicious creature red seems better than blue lol, too much thought yes.

I thought I'd throw in a vote for my current case, the Thermaltake Armor Series

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133154

It is a huge case, with a ton of room inside for expansoin and air flow. It also comes with 2 120MM and 2 90MM fans.

Newegg has it for $125 (after $25 rebate which basically covers shipping).

They also have a version with a 250MM(!) fan on the door, but it is $170 (no rebate)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133021

This is the most sturdy and well-built case I've ever owned, though I will warn you that it weighs a ton.

I plan on ordering the Smilodon even though there are probably better out there, because I will use this one more as a practice build case and get one in the future that will kick more butt than what is available now for the price. I am trying to keep my build costs below $1500 if possible and cutting almost 50% off case price helps I think.

The case came with the pins that held the front of the case on snapped clean off so it won't stay together any more =/ Contacted Newegg.com tonight to see about getting a non broken one =0

The smilidon is actually pretty sturdy, everywhere but the bezel. I think if the pins didn't break off I would never really have noticed it as a weak spot. The magnets are weak of course, but it really allows for easy opening and I kinda like it. It came with a junk powersupply though I thought it didnt, but I have a 5150GH 500w on the way. The flip down motherboard side is so much better than I thought it was going to be will make it much easier to work on when I can just pop the whole side off and get down to business.

Dave

*Edit*
I will see if your fix even would work Zepper, but it came damaged, I want a new one! Stingy I may be, but I will wait to use that fix when I break it myself lol.
