Case audio question

Hey, I got a Antec P182 case and I connected the HD-AUDIO labelled connector to the motherboard, but I don't get any signs of audio from the case? Shouldn't it beep when booting, or how can I test if it works? 🙂

And in case I should've heard from it, what do you suggest I do?

The P182 does not have a case speaker. The HD-AUDIO connector is for the front panel audio jacks, and should be connected to your sound card.

Ah ok, thanks. I use the onboard soundcard so I guess everything is fine 🙂

I like having the case speaker - those startup beep-boops are comforting. Found a place selling system speakers for cheap - maybe best byte or something like that. Some mobos even lack the speaker header now and some BIOSes don't generate the beep codes any more either.

There's some outfit that sells "Lian Li" PC speakers for $3 but I can't recall which one it is right now.

It's getting pretty bad when you have to remember to pull old case speakers when upgrading your system.
