Case audio port

Hi All
Most computer cases come with audio ports up front. I use a sound card and would like to hook up the case port for earphones and still use the card for speakers.
It would seem that the card manufactures could add a simple hookup for these prewired case audio ports.
I use the utilities that come with a sound card but the MB sound does not work well with these utilities and similar utilities are not provided with the motherboard drivers.
I even thought about soldering something up on the sound card.

Modern sound cards have at least two audio outputs, i.e. line out and speaker out. You can use one of the outputs to connect the case audit port. If there is only one output from the sound card, then you can buy a 1/8" male plug with multiple female outlets and connect both your earphones and speakers. Like this

Hi All
Yes I know about how a sound card can be hooked up with a "Y" adaptor as thats how I am doing it but as stated in my original post, I would like to use the case audio port. The connection from the case port to the motherboard is a standard configuration and would be a very simple add to a sound card thus keeping all connections up front , tidy and simple.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here, since you haven't indicated what sound card you have.

Other then the y adapter, if you really want to use the front audio ports you'll have to either use the onboard sound or get a different sound card that supports front audio.
