I currently have an INwin a500 mid tower case and the power supply is mounted vertically and I want to put an athlon chip and mobo in this case..do I need to get a different case where the power supply is mounted horizontal? or can I use this one?

I dont exactly understand, but as long as it is an ATX case it should work fine.

You probably will be able to do it, but you might have to take the power supply out to put in the mobo. Also, depending on the width of your case, the Athlon fan could be pretty close to the Power Supply, so you'll have to watch out for that.

Thanks..going to give it a try tomorrow...the motherboard tray slides out..so I'll keep an eye on these things....going to add an extra fan or two for extra cooling.

I also have the a500, i do believe there is not enought clearance for heatsink/fan. Best bet is to buy the inwin s500. I just recieved mine and its great :) not to expensive either.

Yeah after looking at it real close --it seems like the cpu fan would be trying to suck air onto the heatsink...and then the power supply vent is right above that would be sucking too...doesn't sound like it will provide very good cooling....off to the computer store I go....heheh
