I could use some help with case selection.

First, I currently have a Gateway computer, P3 800Mhz, 2 20gig hd's, 256 ram, cd/dvd, zip drive. The compouter was purchased 3 years ago this month. I havn't cracked it open yet to check the power supply or dimensions.

I have just purchased a P4 2.4Ghz, Asus p4pe motherboard, 80 gig HD, 512 Mb ram. Someone mentioned to me that the P4's require a 12V connection to the motherboard and that I would need a new power supply. I am assuming this is correct? If so, I suppose that it is better/easier for me just to upgrade to a new case altogether.

So, based on searching this website, it seems like a popular choice is the Antec Performance II Workstation Model SX835II with 350W PSU. I'm not crazy about the design, but I don't see too many out there that I like as much as the case I have now. So, I am jsut looking for a confirmation/blessing that the motherboard I have bought will fit this case and the power supply will be what I need to run what i have purchased. Thanks for any help.

You should be able to just buy a new power suuply and throw it in your old case if you really like it. I think most of Gateways stuff is pretty standard, unlike Dells. Personally I would just go for the Antec. You probably need a couple system fans that the gateway case will not have space for.
