Please could you offer your opinion on this one please. I have contacted my supplier who is happy to cover any swapping out that may be required
I have a Silverstone Temjin tj05 case. I noticed that the thermal controller that it has beeps randomly roughly every 5 minutes with the screen going black for a second. Initially I thought this was the thermal controller so I contacted the manufacturers directly (who are still involved if you wish to bounce anything off them, also very interested in outcome for their reference) they sent me a new thermal controller and it too does exactly the same thing. As a test, I wired the thermal controller to a cradle PSU to test, left it running for 9 hours and did not experience a single beep, proving the fault did not lie with the controllers.
My PSU is a brand new Enermax Noisetaker 480W, my PC runs absolutely fine with no errors at all by the way.
When bench-testing the controller with the cradle PSU, I flicked the power connection off for a split second and reconnected it, the screen goes black for a second and I get the familiar beep, basically the problem with the thermal controller beeping and screen fault is exactly replicated if the power is removed from the controller for a split second then reconnected. My logical thinking ( I hope???) leads me to think this problem is related to my power supply in some way.
My system is,
Asus A8n-sli mobo,
Athlon xp3700+ CPU
Radeon X850 xt pe graphics card.
1 x DVD writer
1 x DVD reader
1 x IDE HDD
Doubt the power consumption is over 480W but as a test for consumption and voltage drops, I connected the controller in on its own lead, dont know whether it is a coincidence but the beeping/resetting was much less, probably only 2 or 3 in three hours.
So... Your expert opinion on this if you please, Is there anything you can think of??
Your opinion is very much appreciated.
