Cas latency on laptop RAM

I want to buy a 2GB stick so I have 4GB RAM on my new laptop. Looking on Newegg, each has a different CAS latency. How do I know which will work on my laptop?

Is there a way to check what I have in now?

"Most" laptop memory is going to be JEDEC compliant. So, you should be able to simply buy a SODIMM and plug it in as it will have the proper SPD to run in the laptop. As noted, use CPU-Z and buy the exact same memory or, as similar as you can find.
