Cas Latency in pc3200 RAM

Ok I have a Mushkin value ram with cas latency of 2.5 in my system, and am looking to get a PNY with cas latency 3. Will the whole thing run at cas latency 3? or will they run seperately at 2.5 and 3 because I dont have dual channel?

you should get some quality cas 2.5 sticks. pny has a reputation for being pretty crappy anyway. and you will have to slow down your other stick.
