However, stability would be more of a concern. But that would depend on the motherboard and quality of ram.

Is that your board in the link? As far as the warning goes, I would think that msi is just trying to scare the consumer. LOTS of people run cas2 memory with no problems. In that article, they use registered cas 2 memory in that board.
