CAS 2 PC-100?!?

Ok so I got a stick of CAS 2 PC100 (2-2-2 @100mhz) I was wondering what kind of performanze (mhz) I can expect out of this at CAS 3?

and another thing...if that stick fails while overclocking, say fsb of 145 or so does, the computer then not post or will it just boot with 128mb less ram?

If the DIMM fails at any particular speed your more likely to experience BSOD's are instability in the OS rather then it outright now booting or detecting the RAM.

In my experience most of the earlier Cas2 PC100 DIMM's could hit roughly 124-133MHz at Cas3. Some of the later, and better DIMM's managed as high as about 138MHz Cas2, and somewhat higher still at Cas3 timings.

I have some Corsair PC100 cas2, one Micron, one seimens, and neither would do above 118MHz stable (64mb sticks) yet my motherboard does 150MHz stable with my Compuwiz1 ram.
So becarefull if your looking at buying some PC100, but if you already own it, try it out at a higher speed.
