How much better is cas 2 over 2.5... I had to up my voltage from 2.55 to 2.85 to get windows to boot... is it worth the extra voltage and heat generation?

You might want to run Prime95 and see if it passes the torture test for 24 hrs.

i ran sandra burn-in test for 20 times with amd athlon xp 1900+ at 1740 at an fsb of 145... with cas 2 at first... and well it was unstable and reboot... but for cas 2.5 at the same speed with a voltage of 2.55 it passed 20 times the cpu and mem burn in test... then an hour of 3dmark.. no unstability problems.. but with cas 2 i couldnt even finish sandra burn in test.... is cas 2 much faster than cas 2.5 will i notice a difference.. and like i said is the performance to life of mem to heat ratio better or worse?

Unless you're running programs like SETI or anything else that's constantly compiling or anything then set it to 2.5. There's no big difference for everyday stuff that you'll noticably see.

:)YEAH i had a test about that before.

Mine CAS Latency was set to 2 at beginning, and it worked pretty stable(reboot roughly once 3 days), yet one day my WIN2k began to prompt DUMPING MEMORY, so it returned to 2.5 and I tried setting it back and it never worked any more...WELL according to sandra there's only 17 points difference (6674 v.s. 6657)....so I guess for ur system stability, just leave it.
