CAS 2.5 DDR

I want some opinions on whether or not it's worth paying about $20 extra to get CL2 DDR (Corsair) modules rather than just getting the CAS 2.5 from Crucial with their free shipping. How much difference does that .5 cycles really make in performance? Would it be at all noticable?

I dunno...but I haven't met a stick of Crucial CL2.5 PC2100 that won't run at a CL2....

I run 2-2-2 at 133 (266) bus just dandy. As do most other people I know.

I never bothered with 2.5 I just used 2 out of the box.

Like Noriaki said, it will probably run at Cas 2-2-2 anyways at 133MHz.

However, if you plan on overclocking that might make some sort of difference, I'm not too sure. Kind of like, 7ns RAM overclocks better than 7.5ns RAM, you know? I know it's two different things, but I thought the comparison might help you understand what I was trying to say.

that said, it's almost a sure thing that the crucial will run 2-2-2 at 133mhz. some people have been able to overclock VERY high with these sticks (over 160, but i'm not sure what ram timings). my results haven't been quite that good...i can run with fast timings at 140mhz if i jack up the ram voltage...i am currently running at 138mhz with a small boost in voltage at fast timings (8-8-5-2-2-2-2 if that means anything to you). your mileage may vary but unless you expect the ram to work miracles, the crucial ram is quality stuff
