CAS 2? 3? need help on memory upgrade

Ok, i bought 256mb pc133 of micron memory around april of 99. Im not sure at all what CAS rating it is. I want to upgrade (cause nows the time) with another stick of 256mb pc133 crucial CAS 2. I want to know if my micron ram can run at CAS 2 so my latency will keep down. Also could someone help me with the bios settings to implement this on a ASUS K7V??

Easiest thing to do is go into your Bios and set what you have now to 2 and see if its stable. If she locks, you will need to replace that memory if you want cas2.

As far as bios, go to advanced options and chip set up. Now find Sdram config and set it to user define. Set CAS Latency, Precharge time and cas delay to "2T". Save and exit bios.

If she runs unstable, set back to original settings until you get some higher rated ram, if she does run good for a couple days, congratsm you just got a free performance upgrade.
