Carson Daly... how is he still on the air?

I watched this show a couple times like a year or two ago... seemed like it was an hour? Has it been cut down to 30 minutes since then? Anyway, he's doing these Conan-ripoff bits (exact same delivery) but the writing is terrible. He actually got booed by his own studio audience. You can even tell that HE knows he's bombing -- he swallows hard, starts speaking awkwardly... seriously, this is worse than the late night talk show Magic Johnson used to have...

he's cute? really i have no idea. i think they feel sorry for him.

He gets great music. Thats the only reason I ever watch. And it's always been 30 minutes, with an hour on fridays.

All the talk show hosts need to be fired and replaced. It's just sad that I was born too late to see much of Johny Carson, from the little I have seen the show had a warm humours heart back then. Now it's just turn the crank, get the laughs, make the money. You can tell even the hosts
are getting fed up with it with all the self deprecating humour they use, "what was that, wow the rating really took a dive there" - <Insert talk show host here>. I used to like Conan but his show hasn't done anything really funny or original in years now. It seems too cold and impersonal when it should be warm and friendly.

Franky, I don't understand how Leno is still on the air. He's not really that funny either.
True. But at least he manages to be charming with the guests. And his monologue is watchable if not actually funny. Lot more than I can say for Carson Daly.

Some of Conan's skits still make me chuckle... anything with Joel Goddard is pretty funny. And the bit with The Interrupter earlier this week was good.

EDIT: Besides, the Tonight Show is a fixture now; I bet it'll still be on in 50 years.

I like Carson a lot better than I like Conan.. Conan has waaayyy too much childish crap where the humor is solely based on him acting goofy and shaking his hair. Carson doesn't hold back like Leno and Conan.. he'll ask questions that I would like to ask. Where Conan and Leno are just kissing some high-society overpaid actor's ass, Carson asks normal-people stuff like, "So, how drunk were you when you did that?" and "Did you hit it?"

And, Leno IS funny. He's a genuinely funny person who keeps offenses to a minimum. He gets guests to blurt things out that you just know they were trying to keep in.

Letterman and Conan really just suck lately.. Conan has been using the same tired humor that he started with.. and now, his much funnier sidekick is gone.. Letterman just acts dumb like Conan to get laughs.

Carson is not talk show material. And I am getting tired of Conan's repetitive antics too.

Conan's sketches have been going downhill, I must admit.

As far as Carson goes, what better do you think they have to show at 1:30 in the morning?

Carson > Conan?!?! That my friend is what I like to call crazy talk. Sorry your "adult" sense of humor has dwindled down to the point where you think that Carson and his lame attempts to be funny rank higher then Conan... "Did you hit it?" That's so not childish, right? It's not funny either....

Oh and Jay Leno/Dave Letterman are both not that funny but if I had to choose, Dave is funnier then Jay.

i agree, leno does seem genuinely funny... like when u date someone or meet a coworker who u realize is genuinely humorous. this is more enjoyable than a pure joke teller who just reads something.
