i know nothing about cars, but i want to learn because as i come closer to having to purchase my first car i want to know what does what and what i should look for. i spend a lot of time on autotrader.com looking for something 2500 or under, yeah im a teen if you hadnt figured that out, so anyone know any websites that explain all the ins and outs of cars, along with customizing yer car, etc?

I would also highly suggest a subscription to Road & Track. R&T has one of the best tech sections I've seen, and they do a "Tech Tidbits" section every month which is a collumn by an automotive engineer about some aspect of car design. You can learn a lot from that section, everything from which engine arrangements are out-of-balance in which specific way to the advances in fuel cells and electronic valves.

go to an auto trader site and show us which cars you like. come back and post them up, and get some input from people.

He'd probably be better off starting out with learnign to change spark plugs and adjust timing and stuff.
