What cars have been rebadged, i.e: geo prizm is actually a corolla.

Looking for those types of cars. I can see a big price difference with a geo prizm and a corolla but the quality is about the same.

I believe the Pontiac Vibe shares the same platform as the mazda 3. Also the saab 9-2x is essentially a WRX in saab skin.

Close. The Vibe is shared with the Toyota Matrix. The Mazda3 is a global C1 platform product, it shares a lot with the new Focus and Volvo C30, along with a handful of other oddball things mostly in Europe.

Dodge Dakota=Mitsubishi Raider
Ford Ranger=Mazda B series
Ford Explorer=Mazda Tribute (old)
Ford Escape=Mazda Tribute (new)
Chevy S10=Isuzu Hombre
Dodge D50=Mistubishi Mighty Max

Any of these can probably be had for $5k, with either the asian or domestic name.

Correction, Explorer previously was the Mazda Navajo (only available in 2-door).

Also,

Honda Odyssey = Isuzu Oasis (the original 4 cylinder model)
Honda Passport = Isuzu Rodeo
Acura SLX = Isuzu Trooper

Ford Probe = Mazda 626

Chrysler Crossfire = MBZ SLK 320

A great budget car is a Ford Escort ZX2, Mercury Cougar or Focus ZX3.

For the longest time Chevy trucks and GMC trucks were just an emblem away from being identical... They still are under the sheet metal but atleast GM decided to change a few other things style wise... Then came Cadillac...:p

For the longest time practically every GM, Ford, and Chrysler vehicle had a rebadge, possibly more than 1 in GM's case.

Maybe the same platform, but not rebadges of the same car, the probe was a 2dr coupe, the 626 was a 4 dr sedan.

Probe

The 626 platform was used for the 2-door Mazda MX6, on which the Probe was based. The 626, MX6, and Probe are substantively identical in terms of core mechanical and chassis components. The differences were primarily limited to bodywork and interior trim.
