ok, I just looked up the prices on a used Ford Mustang(after reading the "Should I get a '04 GT?" thread). Price for a Mustang GT '01: $34,000! New price for that car was $51,000, that's just insane.

just found on the official Ford page that the Swiss blabla doesn't import the American Fords so you have to go thru a 3rd party. Bleh. Price for a new '04 GT is $42,000. Bleh^2.

Yeah. My dad was telling me a RX-8 was between 40 and 50,000 francs. Pretty crazy. He also told me about the 4L of Mobile1 for $70 francs.

Yeah the fastest RX-8 costs about $40,000. How much does that car cost in America?

The 6-spd RX-8 starts around 27,000 USD.

If it's not imported properly you can't really compare. I could say a skyline is soooooo expensive, but that's because Nissan doesn't have distribution setup in the US for it properly.

There are "ways" of getting skylines inexpensively ;)

I think I ask a guy who works for Danzas how much it would cost to import a car. Anyone has some numbers on that?

How do you "properly" import a car? Order it, get it shipped and pay the taxes on it, no?

You've got crap like safety and emissions to deal with. Really bringing it in isn't so much a problem as actually registering it for road use.

yeah, stolen was the obvious one but still, they're nearly double the price, depends on the model.

It's pretty much all expensive, but undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries. It's got more culture in a city block than in most American cities - unless you consider fast food and highways "culture" :p
