They just turned up the boost on the turbo...?

That's actually a cost effective way of increasing power thru the model year. Instead of increasing displacement or massaging the intake/exhuast/cams/timing, just have a turbo from the beginning and increase boost every few years as the motor gets refined.

You can chip a car, vwoa can detect the chips, and give you a hassle on the warranty if you leave the chip in the car and they detect it. Would suck to blow your motor and be making new car payments huh?

If you get a spare ECU, and a vag-com you can switch them out during service..

The TT225 has a bigger turbo, twin intercoolers, lower compression, and beefier bottom end to run that 225 more reliably.

now if they would only put in the 225hp chip that the audi tt gets...

there are chips out there that are boosting the output of that engine to about 200hp. however, you have to wonder about the reliability of those turbos since they work a lot more harder. the 225hp TT engine has a different turbo so it's not possible to reach that power level without changing the turbo or do some other mods.
