CARS is ending Monday so if you have been on the fence you better hurry. There are enough threads bashing it so lets not have another one.

It's ending? I guess a certain someone 😉 will need another topic to achieve lifer status.

lulz

Anyway, I wonder if this will affect recent decisions by automakers to ramp up production. On one hand, no more CARS, but on the other, they really need to replenish depleted inventory.

"Through Thursday, auto dealers have made deals worth $1.9 billion and are on pace to exhaust the program's $3 billion in early September. The incentives have generated more than 457,000 vehicle sales. Administration officials said they have reviewed nearly 40 percent of the transactions and have already paid out $145 million to dealers. "

So less than 10% payout...after reviewing 40% of the claims?

I swear...every time I read a report about this program...the administration of the thing seems like the biggest cluster-fuck in the world. Add to it that "car salesman"...generally regarded as one of the slimiest sort... have a significant amount of input into the process...and suddenly I see fiasco written all over it.
