Car's 30000 Miles Service, is it really required?

I usually do the 30k service at 60k. Just change the oil, pop in a K&n, maybe change the trans, and you should be good.
Fuel filters/differential fluid/coolant don't really go bad so early, despite manufacturers suggestion to change it.

Just remember though, if this car is in any kind of racing, high performance application, following a higher frequency service schedule will help prolong the life of the car. However, at mild temps, steady hw driving for example, most fluids don't break down for quite some time.

Thanks to Aircooled and Notfred, it's very useful information.

Now I need to buy some books that teach me how to change the spark plug, Replace PCV Valve, and change fuel filter 😀

You can pick up a Haynes or Chiltons manual at your local auto parts store. As far as spark plugs go, you will want a torque wrench to ensure that the spark plugs are in the head enough, but to also ensure that you do not overtighten and damage the threads. Don't own one? Autozone rents them out (all you do is make a deposit which is fully refundable). Buy a tube of anti seize compund to prevent the spark plugs from seizing in the head. Buy a spark plug gapper to gap the plugs properly (they're supposed to be pregapped, but I've always needed to adjust them). The anti seize and the plug gapper will run about 6 bucks total.

If you do the fuel filter yourself, be prepared to get gas all over your hands. What you can do is rub salt over your dry hands. I don't know why it works, but it lifts the smell.

Good luck.

Any thoughts?

So far, I've only done oil changes, air filters, and tire rotations, but nothing else. Maybe I should look for other service as well.

Btw, car is 2000 Ford Mustang V6 Manual Transmission. Fun car. 🙂

Hell no wait for another 30-40,000 ...........fords are built tough .......
