44% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes. Guess this will be regarded as Pixar's first 'flop'.

Still seeing it tomorrow night though. I'm sure it'll still be enjoyable.

Forget RT and all the critics. The movie is enjoyable and kids will like it. All these critics are becoming giant elitists douchebags who only rate "artsy" movies high. I give you exhibit 1 - I saw the movie Babel that got all kinds of awards and it was the biggest pointless piece of donkey poop I ever saw. Plus the camera work makes people sick. Sometimes I just want to enjoy a fun movie.

I'm definitely with you there. I never read any critic's reviews of any film. I think film critics have one of the most pointless (yet awesome if it were mine) job in the world. I was merely just acknowledging its low score.

That, and I think the fact that it's a Pixar movie really puts it in the crosshairs for all movie critics. Pixar essentially has an untarnished reputation. Their movies are held to such high standards. A 'bad movie' for them would probably be a smash hit for Dreamworks.

Every Pixar movie is highly rated so not sure that's applicable.

Depends what you mean by "highly". Like was said before, Cars 1 got low 70s on metacritic. Monster's Inc (probably my favorite Pixar movie) got high 70s. Other Pixar movies easily get 90s.

i hated Cars when it was released. after watching it several times i enjoyed it more and more. Cars2. just looks stupid. my fav Pixar film so far has been Ratatouille. wish theyd make a 2nd one.

They have a film about critics and the service they provide.

Godfather Part 2. 3 pages and this was missed? G1 was legendary, G2 was all-time great status. Of course then they had to make Godfather 3, which while an okay film was not even in the same universe of quality.

I agree about T2 > T1, mainly because the effects in T1 were so terrible. T2 is one of the best action films of all time. T1 is just not that great of a film, it was more of a good idea that tried really hard with limited budget and tech of the time.

I disagree. Having watched both recently I think the story is much more interesting in T1 and the relationship between Sarah and Reese was much more interesting, plus the actual terror of

T2 lacked a lot of the scare factor and intimacy of the first film. It was far more bombastic and was more impressive from an effects standpoint, but the characters and story were far less interesting and in a lot of ways it kind of feels like a kids film. Don't even get me started on Furlong, who makes the movie unwatchable in my opinion.

KT

Edit: meant to say I agree on Godfather Part 2.

I could see it, but much like Furlong took you out of the T2 experience, the often terribad effects took me out of the T1 experience. Particularly cringe-worthy (and not in the scary kind of cringe) was the peel-back-the-latex-hand thing. The stop-motion animation in some spots was pretty awful as well. It probably worked better in a flickery theatre in the original release era though.

Ahh, makes sense. I hear ya now.
