Carrizo-based laptops, available in USofA? Know of any?

Just curious. Wanted to try out one, just to see what it's like. Currently have a 1007U laptop, an N2830 laptop (actually, several different ones with that CPU), and a Pentium B970 (I think that's it, it's a Sandy). They're all good, I think that the 970 or maybe 980 is the fastest, followed by the 1007U, followed by the N2830.

Not planning on doing any gaming with it, so maybe Carizzo is overkill for me, but I would like to try one out. Think that it would be great for media-decode capabilities.

Found this one, but it's .ca , and doesn't come out until 7/17/2015.

Edit: Thanks for the link to that AT article, corkyg. Looks good so far, let's hope that they have some design wins. I'm very interested in the HEVC decode capabilities. One of those APUs (either in a laptop, or a mini-ITX board) would make a nice HTPC, especially so if it has an HDMI 2.0 output. (Not really holding my breath for that, since even the "4K gaming ready" Fury discrete cards don't even have 2.0, but that's another thread for a different sub-forum.)

I am certainly waiting for some. I really want to see reviews on these in comparison to Intel Core M devices. I really think if the manufacturers try they can get products like the Yoga Pro or Spectre with an AMD APU going. I, as a consumer, would love some competition in this space.

I'm hoping to find a Carrizo FX-8800P laptop with 8gb of fast RAM, 1080p IPS screen, 256gb+ SSD. Oh and for less than $700.

I'm not sure why it's so difficult for AMD to arrange this with OEM's. 1366x768 with a shitty 500gb HD kills any of the ones I've seen released so far.

AMD should partner with an OEM to build a 'reference' spec laptop that shows off Carrizo's capabilities. I know they're short on cash but this makes a lot of sense to me.

That is way too expensive for 900p and a 5400 rpm hard drive. Plus 17 inch formfactor doesnt make sense for a low power processor.
