carpool violation in California

Dang, i got not one ticket today...i got two at the same time! What a bummer! Basically, as I was traveling alone in the carpool lane, I saw a cop way ahead so I quickly got out thinking that i was totally in the clear. But lo and behold, I see him pulling away and slowing down and then as i passed him, he came up behind me and the sirens blared. i got ticketed for the carpool lane and also crossing the double yellow lines!! jeez....

So..anyone ever been in this situation? Do i get points for this? Carpool i'm pretty sure i can just pay the fine.
 
So Cal? That's where they have carpool lanes w/ double yellows. Thank goodness we don't have double yellows here for carpool lanes. I dunno, plus the route I take back home isn't horrible or anything with traffic. Be it 4 PM, 6 PM or 7:30 PM, I can get home fine without carpool.

I've seen plenty of people pull in when they don't want to brake hard for a sudden slowdown due to traffic and then they cut back in.

Have fun... it's like $271 or something? =(
 
good for you, I don't mind speeders complaining about speeding but the carpool lane I take serious.

Especially if you're dumb enough to exit the carpool lane over double yellows with a cop just ahead of you..

good to know! you took the risk and got caught. i hate people like you that zooms by driving by yourself while the rest of us sits in traffic.

i read somewhere there's like a loophole in it...which freeway was it? some of the carpool lanes in cali have time slots...and any car can be in it...do a search on it...you will find those loopholes...one more thing...sheriffs, (i heard) dont get paid overtime...so if you try to fight it in court...i dont think he will show up...

Carpool lanes are the biggest waste of taxpayer money and they do nothing to ease the congestion on our freeways. Whenever the freeway is jammed the stupid carpool lane is also jammed. They do no good whatsoever.

carpool lane violation is now $341. good luck fighting that mister.

on the other hand, i don't think the carpool violation is a moving violation. HOWEVER, crossing the double lines most likely is.

you were stupid to scoot out of the lane like that. going over the doube lines is begging for a cop to pull you over especially if they're behind you.
