Carpet Cleaning Q:

Lamont Burns

My roommate the moron exploded an ink pen on his bedroom carpeting. He has used conventional carpet cleaners only to turn the dark black spot into brown with hints of purple.

As much as he has used, I imagine the carpet is asking for mercy, but since we are moving out and not interested in losing that out of our deposit, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to help remove some of the ink stain.

Perhaps there is no method. I wouldn't have the slightest.

Anyone?

Peter North Rug Service from what i hear.....

On a serious note, I think you are screwed, but see if some rug cleaners will give you a free estimate or someting.....

I have no idea if it works on ink or not, but I tried one of those Oxy-something cleaners in a low concentration and it got rid of some stains that had been on my carpet for months.

I'd hit it up with some paint thinner. Don't let that stain dry until you've had time to work the ink out of the carpet.

[edit]: Also, you could try some "Goof Off" cleaner which is sold at Home Depot. This stuff is pretty good and should get that stain out.
