Carp! crosswinds.net now makes you put ads on your page. Does anyone know another free, no-banners web space provider?

From www.crosswinds.com's homepage

<< We will never force you to place ads on your personal pages. - Note: Due to circumstances, we had to break this last promise, hopefully, temporarily. It is a harsh reality that the revenues we were earning from our current banners and clicks were insufficient simply because we were not able to display enough and generate sufficient clicks. We hope you will help us make this a temporary break. >>

:(

Does anyone know another free, no-banners web space provider?

thanks

So far, Envy.nu has had no ads. I don't know if it'll change or not but there is an extra line of code they add after and before body which is:

<!-- START HOME FREE HEADER CODE -->

<!-- END HOME FREE HEADER CODE -->

I've used it for a while, and the only drawback is that it's a bit slower than others.

hmm someone posted this question yesterday....

but check f2s. they give you 20megs, no banners, and ftp access. I use them and all is fine. Takes 24 hours for your account to be activated... your address will be www.YourName.f2s.com
