Carnivale (New HBO show)

http://www.hbo.com/carnivale/

Anyone interested? I caught the first episode (quite legally, it airs this Sunday) and I have to say it's not what I thought it would be but I liked it a lot. It sort of reminded me of The Stand mini-series. Should be another good HBO series.

I'm looking forward to it. I saw the sneak preview on HBO and saw there's a supernatural element that I didn't realize was there. It looks like it should be cool.

the pay channels have some really good shows on hbo with sopranos, 6 ft. under the wire is supposed to be good but I haven't seen it. and on showtime, that show, dead like me is great, if you get showtime, definitely watch it.

Somewhat related (HBO Sunday night): Is "The Wire" over? I saw an episode where the Union leader gets killed, and the son and nephew are also caught, and I didn't see anything anymore. I think "The Wire" was one of the best, but hard to follow if you miss episodes.

And there's this soap-opera on Univision...

No, The Wire is coming back for another season because people complained that it didn't get any Emmy nominations.

Which shows these Emmy people don't even watch TV! It's all on the promotion scheme built by the networks. They didn't advertise The Wire to make these people minds. They wanted to hype more expensive shows to sell later abroad and on DVD. Besides, entertainment journalists are just a tad above local police reporters in quality.

I didn't expect The Wire to end the way it did. Too much is up in the air. Oh well, to next season.

Thanks for the reminder, I've got to pick up a pack of tapes so I can tape this. If it's HALF as good as the sopranos, I'll be hooked

Seen an advance copy back in Feb or March and thought it was ok but wasnt anything special. Certainly somewhat bizarre though.

I went to an industry screening.

The older edits were totally different. They re-did most of the first episode since the one you saw.

I saw it. Definitely pretty far out. I recorded it on the DVR, and probably watch it again tommorow. I didn't pay complete attention to it this time. Reminds me of Steinbeck really.

I thought it started out slow. Got more interesting as it went along.

I was really looking forward to K Street...didn't care for it at all.
