That's an aweful thing to say. Why would any team not deserve a no-hitter? Just because they're not in first place? Yes, Michael Barrett has had a hot temper and gotten himself into trouble - but that's no reason a team should be denied a no-hitter. Bad fundamentals? Well, we're here watching the White Sox with bad fundamentals over the past two weeks. And the Cardinals played absolutely terrible in the series with the Cubs, racking up a lot of costly, game changing errors.
So who does deserve to get a no-hitter? Only the Yankees? Is that how it goes?
Z had a no-hitter into the 9th a couple years ago in Arizona, was broken on a play where the replay clearly showed the runner was out at first, though called safe anyways. He definately has the stuff to pitch a no-hitter, we just have to wait until *all* the breaks go the Cubs way for 9 innings.
But at the end of the day the only thing that is important is the win, and the Cubs are definately getting one today! There have been a few no-hitters where that pitcher has actually lost the game, which is always an interesting thing to see. 🙂 Especially when it happened to the White Sox not all that long ago.
